Water for Life - Fresh clean drinking water for families in Thirukkovil Kudinilam, Sri Lanka

Thirukkovil Kudinilam is a very remote & poor village in the Eastern Province Region of Sri Lanka. The village community mostly rely on agricultural farming for their daily needs.

The entire village does not have any supply of fresh clean drinking water and the community has had to use other water sources like wells.

With support from our members and in collaboration with the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, Sri Lanka, a Water for Life community service project for Sri Lanka was launched on Maha Shivarathri earlier this year.

In this phase of the water project, tapped water facilities will be installed for a total of 10 homes. So far, 6 homes in the village now have accesss to fresh clean drinking water. Pipes were laid from the main water supply to each home which now means these family members have clean drinking water just in front of their doorstep.

Work continues to install water pipelines to the remaining 4 homes.

Following the completion of the Water project, these homes will also be supplied with reliable electricity bringing much needed power to these homes.

We thank Swami, our members, the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council Sri Lanka and the local team in Sri Lanka for bringing much needed relief with reliable & clean drinking water.
